I've been asked to compile a list of places to go in Melbourne by a friend who will be backpacking there. I'm kinda out of touch with scenes downunder so feel free to dethrone any of the recommendations below. Please remember that I was a city slicker over there.

best gelati: il dolce freddo on lygon st; seven apples in st kilda.
best flavours: ferrero rocher, durian, strawberry
best hot chocolate: koko black
best truffles: koko black
best shopping: also bridge road and chapel st (smith st for nike and other sportswear)
p/s: i don't know if le favourite is still there. last i checked melb central was under renovation and it was gone. |  |
