Welcome to my world

Behold. The extension of who I am.

A Thousand Kisses Deep.

Music expresses that which cannot be put into words and that which   cannot remain silent.

                                                                   - Victor Hugo

The horn remains a virgin. Its shining chrome remains at rest within the confines of the case. But waiting inside its valves are powers waiting to be unleashed.

It would be hard to find nowadays one to be enthralled by the genius of such a masterpiece. Every bend, every piston, every curve fine-tuned to perfection. Even a perplexity for a layman to figure the intrincate details of moulding the brass weapon to produce a natural B flat.

Music can change the world because it changes people.

                                                                 - Bono

The classic case of the performer hiding behind his instrument—one who lets his horn do the talking while hiding his true emotions from everyday view.

Greg himself would most likely tell you that he is merely showing off his new prized possession—a Bach Stradivarious Bflat Horn. He is using a medium-depth 1 1/2 C 17mm Megatone mouthpiece, which adds weight and mass for a darker sound. It has slightly larger throat for less resistance and more flexibility.

I'm happy.

When Boys Become Men

Aw...ain't that cute?

Looking at this picture reminded me of the good ol' days. When life was carefree, when risks were commonplace, when our schedules were often filled with late nights at Stalactites, cooking garlic cheese naan at G's home, running through Crown's water fountains in the freezing winter.  When kissing each other in front of 20 people was...well, us.

That was then.

Now? Y is married. And G is off to the workforce soon. And J is contemplating a career change.

It's true. We are growing up.

Re-reading that sentence, it's got a sad ring to it.  What does it mean? No more throwing caution to the wind, not caring what tomorrow may hold? Could be.  For each one of us, destiny is starting to drive each member of the JYG on different roads, with different destinations. We are all feeling the strain of responsibility on our shoulders, the burden that comes with worrying about how to support ourselves, how to succeed in this crazy rat-race, how to stay afloat in life's busy times and still love those closest to us.

And I thought the JYG was invincible, indestructible, above all that.  I guess not.

Yet, it's a new chapter in our lives, as individuals and as a group of friends walking together in this spiritual journey.  We have no clue at what the future holds...and it's exciting.  Is Y gonna be the greatest accounts director the advertising world has ever seen? Is G gonna be headlining his own fitness television programme on Astro? Is J gonna get together with a girl...and fight through his fears to get married?

And most importantly, will we get to experience it all together?

Damn exciting.

So many times, I do wish things could be like before, when life seemed more simple. But I'm learning to look at the future with a smile, that adventure beckons the three of us, and we're all cheering each other towards the day when we can lie next to the beach sipping our Ribenas, looking at the blue sky, with our missus and kids in hand, and saying to each other: we made it.

Inbreaking Light

Sometimes a light surprises
the Christian while he sings;
it is the Lord who rises
with healing in his wings:
when comforts are declining,
he grants the soul again
a season of clear shining,
to cheer it after rain.

In holy contemplation
we sweetly then pursue
the theme of God's salvation,
and find it ever new;
set free from present sorrow,
we cheerfully can say,
let the unknown tomorrow
bring with it what it may,

It can bring with it nothing
but he will bear us through:
who gives the lilies clothing
will clothe his people, too:
beneath the spreading heavens
no creature but is fed;
and he who feeds the ravens
will give his children bread.

Though vine nor fig tree neither
their wonted fruit should bear,
though all the fields should wither,
nor flocks nor herds be there;
yet, God the same abiding,
his praise shall tune my voice;
for, while in him confiding,
I cannot but rejoice

Hubby-Whacker? or The Avengeful Wife?

With regards to the most recent front page wife-beater article, I guess this morning's little incident failed to appear on the same page as it happened at 5.30am. You see, this particular jyg wife-beater fell ill yesterday with high fever and was on bed most of the time except for the time he chased mig29s in Ace Combat 5. He was so sick, he was sweating from head-to-toe underneath his blanket at night, and had a blocked nose to top it all.

His wife, who had woken up because her husband went to the toilet to blow his nose at approximately 5.20am took the opportunity when her husband was in bed trying to get back to sleep.. Unconsciously or consciously, at approximately 5.30am, she elbowed her husband on the eye.

Hubby-Whacker? or The Avengeful Wife?

You pick.

Y.
